The Vice Wine is a luxury wine brand made in small batches. Each batch is a blend of hand selected wine barrels that best express the grape varietal and the region that it comes from. The Vice Wine is a result of passionate labor, sustainable farming, a long expertise of the wine industry and a current understanding of the consumer’s wine trend.
The Vice wine is about as personal of a brand as it gets. Everything is done by the founders. We drive the truck to get our fruit, we crush, bottle, label; we do everything by hand when possible. We design the labels, work the market, and sell the wine.
We believe that the best wines in the world aren’t the most expensive ones. We thrive at providing the best quality wine at the best value.
BATCH # 1
Batch #1 is a 100% chardonnay that has been aging in oak barrels for 36 months. While only a few wineries in the world will ever release a Chardonnay that has been aging for this long, we believe that the craftsmanship of such quality wine requires patience.
The wine comes from 21 hand selected barrels representing the best appellations of both Sonoma County (75%) and Napa Valley (25%).
Batch #2 is a Cabernet Sauvignon blend of 6 hand selected barrels from some of the most iconic wineries in Napa Valley. Aged for 3 years in oak and bottled February 24th 2017, our vision was to create a Napa Cab that captures the true essence of the year 2014. Unlike the single vineyard cabernets, this cabernet showcases a whole range of the signature Napa Valley flavors with a refine complexity and balance. Unfiltered and natural, we believe that this American wine is one of the very best value Cabernet Sauvignons in the world from 2014.
The Vice rosé was the initial vision for the brand and was in work before the Chardonnay and Cabernet. The rosé is a labor of love, a perfect harvest and determination. Unlike the previous batches, Batch #3 was sourced from a single vineyard in Carneros Napa Valley overlooking San Francisco Bay. Our Biodynamic vineyard is known for its cool microclimate which is regulated by the fog and breezes from the bay, an ideal spot for Pinot Noir.
Due to the Napa Valley fires in early fall bottling was delayed but we were lucky to get back on track and bottled on November 8th, 2017. Our Sauvignon Blanc is 100% from the cool Lovall Valley of Southwest Napa Valley, and it is 100% clone 376 (French Entav clone). Lovall Valley is the coldest place to grow grapes in Napa and is ideal for sauvignon blanc.
Batch #5 is a single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from an iconic Yountville Vineyard established in 1973. A vintage to be remembered for its high quality but significantly low yield (-40%), a result of a cool Spring season, a hot and dry summer. The quality of the fruit was outstanding although in limited supply, it is likely to be recognized as one of Napa Valley’s greatest.
Our 2017 Pinot Noir Rose, bottled March 15th, 2018. This is a wild vintage. The year began with abundant rainfall. A mild spring followed by a freak hail storm in June that near missed our vineyard. Two heat waves during the summer, a third one right after we harvested during Labor Day Weekend. Cool weather settled in until the wildfires ravaged the region.
